Yet Intel's rate of patents is positive. Plus, they've acquired a whole bunch of high quality patents from their acquisition of the Compaq Alpha and HP Superdome teams. Intel has a surplus of IP right now - not a shortage. Compare that to AMD's palsie-walsie buddy Motorola.
