Ork, I think it's a combination of several factors:

-New Government after the November elections. Lots of optimism about reform

-Business climate improving, economy bottomed in the end of 2001.

-Taiwanese have not been able to shake themselves loose of the stock market. They love easy money and love to gamble. The run in the fall has whetted the appetites of the masses.

-Double top attempt. I believe the market topped early Feb. 2001.

-First trading day after Chinese New Year. Lots of families had a week to talk about easy money in the stock market. This could get the market to a double top, which is 6198 hit on Feb. 16, 2001.
