new eSignal 7.0 ...

Agent99, We have gathered the best team of people who have worked on eSignal, Advanced GET, QCharts, and Ravenquote building from scratch the new advanced charting. Plus we are adding new functions like advanced drawing tools, and a new eSignal Formula Language. We think the end result will be a product that will be much better than RQ, really the best charting package in the world.

We are also working with many independent software and Easy Language developers to deliver many add ins to eSignal that we hope to have available by the time it goes Gold.

So far as a hog, quite the opposite comments have been posted for our early testers:

fwiw, I was concerned about that too, as I tried an early version of RQ on esignal but found it kind of "sluggish". however, the esignal 7.0 prebeta treads surprisingly lightly on resources. even seems to do better than the 6.x releases (altho this is very subjective).

99,

I agree that Raven was a resource hog. So for, eCharts is fairly reasonable resource-wise.

Frankly, the big problem with RavenQuote wasn't the front-end as it was the data feed. I also use InvestorRT (IRT). I started with QFeed as the data feed for IRT. Had all sorts of problems. Sometimes, when downloading a daily data for about 300 symbols, I'd see IRT's memory usage exceed 250Mb! I finally decided to switch to the eSignal data feed. Now, IRT uses no more than 30-40Mb, even when it's really hammering with lots of charts and quote pages open, and multiple scan's running in the background.

IMO, RavenQuote's biggest resource issue was the datafeed, not the Front End.

Regards,

Dan.
