That's an interesting article John. Most technology companies would probably not show any net profits using this accounting standard. But then again, if you're a believer in the tooth fairy "pro-forma" accounting gimmicks, anything is possible. My bet is that the special interest groups block this legislation again.

John: Personally I consider the option issue good for the media but from a technical standpoint I disagree with a lot of the "percieved facts" being presented. Here is a company I would stay away and not only due to the options. Message 17075484 In addition I've added TYC to my list of companies tainted by bad accounting (@ a price around 30 and obviously late to the table) which should be shunned. Before the dust settles I'd expect it to be a teenager unless GE decides to acquire it.
