MGR had problems because it was promotion of the idea that the Russians had missed in their estimation of the resources drilled off in a certain area. Others avowed that it was promotionally hopeful and also suggested falsified assays or interpretation of them at least. It is hard to say. It is doubtful that the Russians were that far wrong. The area is a low grade for the most part in there. On the other hand you never know. Milling problems could have been the source of woe. I know the people who built the mill, and they averred that they were not that confident of grade. The tenor of that area has been well established by lots of drilling and historical work. There are good high grade areas of Mongolia but that is not alleged by my sources of information to be that productive.
