Don't forget, for specific situations, the military seems to have developed a substitute for nuclear weapons.

It seems the crux of the matter should be touched on here. Nuclear detonation spews radioactive effluent into the atmosphere imperilling those peoples and ecosystem downwind ( high altitude atmospheric ) at random (vis a vis Chernobyl). Thats unacceptable cavalier and roguish behaviour particularly when the RMA (Revolutionary military affairs) are available. If yah gotta bloody Iraqs nose then use the proper vehicle. Repeated nuclear utilization ( Japan & Iraq) would unquestionably place the USA in the Hannibal Lechter camp and don't kid yourself into thinking nuclear devices as a first strike can be justified, the world knows anyone can justify anything (Nazi - Jew) and it's unacceptable, plain and simple.

If the USA is going to use nuclear weapons repeatedly (so far they are the only ones to use em) then the world needs protection from the wild US carnivore. They not only lose their allies and moral high ground but become a danger to the planet. The USA becomes the enemy. Not a point to be taken lightly. Proceed with caution.
