slacker It seems pretty impressive if they managed to cover a third of the total POP's in 60 markets for only $100 million.

It's all subjective, you are dealing with subjective measurement ratios. What is defined as a signal level sufficient to provide "adequate service". There is no benchmark for this definition. Cricket uses -100dbm. As this statement from their "protection build" in Adrian, MI states.

"signal level of –100 dBm, a measure that is appropriate to the technology employed by Cricket, and within which the signal level provides “adequate service,”

wtbwww05.fcc.gov:80/download/0177039919116064746890280.pdf

Whereas, Nextwave uses -103dbm for their measurement threshold.

"Based on the CDMA wireless technology deployed by NextWave, adequate service consists of locations served with a signal level of –103 dBm or higher."

3dbm is half power.

So Nextwave says that their CDMA technology supplied by Lucent provides an "adequate level of service" with a signal strength HALF the level, that of the CDMA technology supplied by Lucent and used by Cricket!

So you can imagine what happens to their Coverage models if you brought their figure down to the level that Crickets protection build is referenced at!

Like I have been saying... Their story line sounds good!!

Understanding the truth, is the difference between being a "realist", and a "dreamer!!!"

And so it goes!
