Geez, so many questions...<g>

set list

Well, I didn't write them all down, so I will have to defer to the official site's setlist....

First set was electric. These guys can still rock, and well, but I think what sets them apart from other bands is the songwriting and harmonies, which really come through on the acoustic set.

First set included, among others:

Carry On/Questions
Military Madness
Cinnamon Girl
Almost Cut My Hair
Wooden Ships
I Used To Be A King (great song)
Feed the People
maybe 4 or 5 other songs

Intermission

Acoustic set

Helplessly Hoping
Our House
Old Man
Guinevere
Harvest Moon (highlight of the entire show for my 8 year old)
Half Your Angels
Suite Judy Blue Eyes (extended version with Stills in amazing form on the acoustic guitar, brought the house down)
2 or 3 other songs too

7th Inning Stretch

Let's Roll (NY's new song about Flight 93, sounded great)
Long Time Gone
Woodstock
Rockin' in the Free World (!)
There was another one in there too.

Encores

Teach Your Children
Eight Miles High (great Byrds song, great finish to the evening)

Didn't play Chicago this time....

clothing choices of you, the kids and David Crosby<g>

David had on an XXXL plaid flannel shirt, some faded jeans, and a baseball cap. The guy looks better than he has in the past, but obviously he has aged. During one song, he had no guitar responsibilities so he stood there swaying back and forth with a huge mug of coffee, occasionally adding a harmony or two.....he really seemed to be having a great time. Kids dressed as David Crosby look alikes LOL

snack run with the kids

The United Center is a tradeoff as a venue....it is huge (300,000 Sq. ft. as compared to 160,000 in the old Chicago Stadium it replaced), so it is hard to fill it up with sound, though the boys did a pretty good job. The crowd noise does tend to get lost a little bit. But the concessions are nearby and uncrowded....pretzels, pizza, popcorn, pop and hot chocolate for the kids...the Big Kid grazed on what they didn't eat, as usual. <g> Seats were perfect, four on the front row of the top tier, unobstructed, far enough away to not be too loud for the little ones but close enough that they could see well. And on the aisle just in case....though they never left the seats once during the show, except for intermission.

smells and aromas from the show<g>

None. The crowd is as old as the performers...LOL. There were a couple of boisterous Neil Young fans who came down behind us and danced and yelled during the last set with their shirts off.....my son was not going to miss what a drunk looked like. <g>

how did the kids do?

They did great. They didn't like the first set as much because it was loud and they didn't know as many of the songs....but I had told them that their stuff was after intermission so they were patient. The 8 year old broke into the biggest smile when the first notes of Harvest Moon were played....and they all loved Old Man and really everything in the acoustic set....and my son was mesmerized by the guitar duels between Young and Stills.....he did lay down on his seat a little between 1030 and 11, but I made sure he got up for Rockin' in the Free World, and he stood with the rest of us. By then the 8 year old was asleep....she missed the last 6 songs or so, but none of her favorites.... The 9 year old stayed up through the whole thing....and nobody needed to be carried to the car. <g>

length of show?

Started 5 or 10 minutes past 8, intermission was maybe 20 minutes or so, ended just past 11:30.

did you stay the whole time?

Yup. Got home at 1 am.....and the amazing thing was, the kids were still awake then....I didn't even have to carry anybody in from the car. They rushed in to tell their Mom about the concert. <g>

and of course...babe count<g>

Well, we left Original Wife at home, so it was one fewer than it would have been. There were two blondes in our row that fortunately had to leave and return while the show was going on.....and it was so hard to get out of their way. <oink>.

countdown: T-minus 6 days to Dylan for us :P

Did you see those setlists on the link I posted? That looks like it will be a great show.
