China would have been weak compared to the Japanese (after all before we got involved Japan was beating China) but the Soviets did a lot of the work of defeating the Germans who where a lot more powerful on land then the Japanese where. Japan surrendered after the bombs, but remember they where also blockaded, and a lot of their military was destroyed even before the bombs.
