"When war saves lives..." This is a myth. We are all going to die. No one will be saved from that. Death is a natural and good culmination of life unless the death is at the hands of injustice. Wars are not typically started with the goal of reducing life. Genocide might be thought of this way but even in this case the goal is to expand the opportunities for the "chosen" to populate the earth at the expense of the victims of genocide. So even that could be thought of as life giving to "my people." Wars aren't started because the war makers (hawks) just want to end lives and they aren't ended just because the peace makers (doves) want more living human beings. Wars are fought to promote the political goals of the opposing sides....period.
