The people who screwed up were the governments. As usual.

Anybody can screw up, but to screw up big, you need to be big, or have access to big assets.

The bottom line is.... "PE=42 means it takes 42 years to get your investment back at current earnings"- considering that most of the earnings you see from any company at any time over the past 10 years excluded writeoffs.... ouch, this SPX is just one fat hog waiting to get slaughtered.
