JOhn, if true, that means that we may see Hammer motherboards in retail by September.

Petz,

And its Hammer chipset, the K8HTB, with AGP 4X/8X and an 8X V-Link throughput

What is this 8x Vlink? And how is Via going to connect it to HT, with a bridge?

I don't know, but Via deserves to be screwed by Intel. They are using Socket 370, and I believe they are planning on using P4 bus, for which they have to beg and sue, and they push their proprietery Vlink, rathern than using HT.

Via could get away with their screwy support for Athlon in the past, when there was no competition, but I think they risk being left in the dust on Athlon/Hammer platform, if they don't fully embrace HT.
