re: I don't think we have begun to see how big the internet will be. That is one of the points I was trying to make. This thing is evolving and getting better. Progress slowed down a bit because of the last mile and the recession/bubble, but it should pick up again. Tulips did not get better with time. Turnpikes, after being carved through the woods of the northeast, got better over time, but not by that much. Trains today don't seem that much better after 100+ years. Radio has not improved much. The internet has Moore's law powering it, plus bandwidth is predicted to increase in speed even faster, when you remove the political/monopoly factors that is. Maybe all this, plus some favorable demographics, and other factors such as coming out of recession, will make the more rosy outlook happen. Hope so anyway. I think we need to factor in what is different this time, but again, no argument on human nature being about the same. I welcome all views on this, and if I am wrong, I hope to get convinced of that.
