itsallover: During the last 17+ year Secular Bull Market that ended during the first quarter of year 2000, we all got used to higher and higher stock prices. The bull market turned into a bubble and mania during the last two years of the bull market.

We are now coping with the aftermath of a mania and as we all know from history, manias end badly.

Therefore, i too see employee options as just one more casualty of the stock market mania that grabbed hold of our country :-(

But when I think about those poor Enron employees who got it in the neck (no job, over-concentrated 401K's and deferred compensation now worthless....), I feel indeed fortunate.
