Would the Ciena buyout of ONI have an effect on the selloff that is going on right now. I see the lack of mergers and acquisitions as a big weight on this market. Consolodation news could stop the downward move, at least in the short term...and maybe even result in a sharp upturn. I don't know if the Ciena deal is enough to do it but a few more could in tech could do it. It is just too quiet on the M and A front. Just wonder if we are setting for a flood of deals...and of course one has to look at how this could change market psychology. Even stock deals would be good for the techs..cost cutting/reduction in competitive pressures etc.... jmho
