>What's the distinction between SMT (Symetric multi threading), Jackson Technology, and Hyperthreading?<

Not sure about Hyperthreading, but Jackson Technology can be implemented without multiple distinct threads. Jackson Technology includes such things as automatic launch of concurrent threads along both paths of an unresolved branch, and sophisticated pipelining of data to minimize stalls due to the length of time a data access can take. SMT can also automatically launch concurrent threads along both paths of an unresolved branch, but this is not required for SMT, just as full multithreading is not required for Jackson Technology. Jackson Technology primarily addresses improving performance without OS support for multithreading, while SMT requires OS support for significant gains.
