You really don't have a clue. When AMD could use the Intel interface it could fit right into an Intel socket and use all the Intel infrastructure.

With the K7 AMD had to develop its own infrastructure and this has caused AMD a lot of grief. AMD could no longer "steal Intel sockets", a direct quote from an AMD annual report.

Intel regained market share to 81+%, earned $1 Billion in profits, and MAD LOST MONEY for the 5'th year out of 6 !!!
