but in the last 20 years we have never had two yearly negative closes on the dow.

So again to me it looks like another case of too many people getting too bearish<<<

as anybody that has followed sentiment or market trends over the years, understand that trends in the market and sentiment can last longer than what seems 'logical', and calling turning points before the moving averages turn can be an exercise in frustration and more, we are making lower highs and lower lows since early january in the snp and nasdaq.
