How do you find out the ex-dividend date for stocks?
What are your thoughts on buying the day of the ex-dividend date, hold over night to get the dividend and then sell the next day. I understand many play these with great success. For instance, Philip Morris (MO) paid a dividend of 2.32 last week. It stands to reason that if you bought 1,000 shares and held them overnight then you would get a dividend check for $2,320. Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.
