According to SnP 's Marketguide database,

over the last 6 mos on the DOW, 89,000 shares were purchased, and 33,989,000 were sold. A ratio of 381.9 shares sold for every share purchased. Only 2 co's had no sellers...IP and HON, and IP had no action at all.

clearly the insider selling is more broadbased, and not reserved to just tech.

excluding msft, the ratio was still 141 shares sold to every share purchased.
