Neo, I am addressing this post to you because you know that I am not a racist, and have been known to make posts in favor of unbiased treatment of all races, creeds, and colors, but something has happened that I do not fully understand, and by the time I finish this post, some will be crying "racist", which is not my point. The point I am questioning has to do with the offices held by the individuals I will mention, and has nothing to do with race, creed, or color.

We all know that Martin Luther King Jr.s' birthday was celebrated on Monday, January 21. What the man accomplished is worthy of a holiday in his name. Our garbage day is on Monday, but it was not picked up that day (BTW our garbage collectors are white), doctor's offices were closed, the post office was closed, and many retail businesses were closed. Then yesterday, the day of celebration of the birthdays of two of the best Presidents this country ever had, the post office was closed, but the garbage was picked up, all doctors' offices were open, and not a single retail store was closed.

As I clearly said, MLK deserved a holiday in his name, but why should his holiday be celebrated more fully than that of two such great Presidents? Maybe it was just a local thing. I hope so.
