zlurk,

Re. BEAS

Besides (favorable) earnings expectation, Soundview expect BEAS to announce major partnership (with HWP?) and important product announcement.

We shall see....

Also on BEAS. . .

BEA Systems (BEAS) 16.02 +0.02: -- Update -- Robertson Stephens reiterates Buy rating and price target of $20, thinks business stabilized considerably in Q4, expects company to meet or slightly exceed estimates. Firm believes that although long-term industry dynamics remain in flux, BEA is poised to benefit from improved demand drivers for J2EE projects, increased traction with newer offerings over next couple of quarters, recommends buy on weakness.

AND

BEA Systems (BEAS) 16.03 +0.03: -- Before Open -- Pacific Crest upgrades to BUY from Market Perform rating with price target of $25. While competition continues to increase, BEAS has a strong pipeline and an increasing number of large, seven and eight figure enterprise deals, and firm thinks BEAS financial results should be strong for next two quarters. Getting into second half of 2002, firm will want to be more careful about monitoring the impact of competitors on BEAS' financial performance. At this point, BEAS' near-term future looks strong; upcoming BEA eWorld likely to provide additional customer and product announcements that could provide additional catalysts for the stock.
