If now you want to insist I said you where a fascist, when I did not, and get angry about it, then all you will do is waste both of our times. Even if you don't believe what I said in this post (that I do not think you are a facist and have not called you one), I am obviously no longer accusing you of being one. If there was any argument about that it would have been one that you won. Working youself up about it now is pointless. ___ Karen said - "One communist could, indeed, cause a mess, but so could one Oregonian, one Episcopalian, one dentist, one skateboarder, etc. here's nothing especially fearsome about communists until they reach the critical mass of influence it takes to divert the country from capitalism. Nineteen airplanes can't to that. We'd fight back, not embrace government control of the means of production. It's silly to fear commies more than we fear goths from Columbine." My interpretation of this is that a communist could be a terrorist buy so could an Episcopalian skateborder... If the communists do become a terrorist threat they still wont destroy our democracy. "Nineeen airplanes" crashing in to ninetten buildings would not divert us from capitalism and democracy, and God help whatever country sponsored the attacks or sheltered the terrorists. So Karen was apparently saying that terrorism is a danger to peoples lives and wellbeing but not to our capitalist and democratic system. So its not that communists are not a threat, they control countries with powerful weapons and they could commit terrorist acts, but that the are not a threat to destroy or concuer the US or to eliminate capitalism, and democracy in the US. They could only eliminate democracy in the US by 1 - Armed revolution which has about a snowballs chance in hell of working at this time. 2- Conquest by a foreign army which right now is next to impossible, or 3 - working through the democratic process they slowly convince us to become more and more socialist. #3 is a danger but I think you exagerate it at least a little bit. To that post you replied - "You are not participating in democracy, you are attacking it. "Message 17073989 That's what I jumped on not your claim that communism is a danger (I agree its dangerous) or even your opinion about the level of that danger (which you apparently think is greater then I think it is). Then I brought up the idea that you thought that Communism is a clear and present danger in the US that greatly exceeds the danger from Al-Qaida. If I was wrong in saying this then I apologize for incorrectly stating your opinion but you didn't object at that time. If you do believe that you would not be a fascist for saying we must fight it like we fight the war on terrorism. So arrests and military response would be justified if the threat level was that high and immediate. Do you understand now that I did not say or even imply that you where a fascist? Tim
