Seems pretty fast to me for a company the size of Intel.

Ahh, but those numbers are wildly misleading!

You are completely ignoring the fact that P4 will still exist on .18µm in a "Celeronized" version.

Tony,

I was not talking about the speed of the ramp, but on the speed grades. I think NW could have reasonably easily been released up to 2.4 GHz, but according to Fyo's theory, Intel did not release such a speedgrade because the few 2.4 GHz NWs would push the prices of all Willamettes and Tualatins down, and Intel would have ended up with lower revenues, rather than higher revenues, if 2.4 GHz was released prematurely.
