Don't neglect "Calling Party Pays" v. "Everybody Pays & Pays Again" in your thinking, or SMS v. voice.

The discussion began when Mucho indicated that it was likely that US ARPU's would deteriorate dramatically as penetration went up. While some decline in ARPU is inevitable, I'm not sure it is going to hit the European level anytime soon. I think SMS must be replacing a great deal of the MOU's for the European operators....the problem for the operators is that they are getting quite a bit less revenue from SMS than the US operators are getting from the voice minutes.

Any thoughts on the drubbing LWIN, NXTL and PCS are taking?
