>>real estate is all about<<

hj, real estate, like any other investment, is about value, imho. what do you get for your dollar.

when i bought my home a gauged the deal as fair - i didn't get a great deal, they didn't get a great deal... we both did alright.

now that the numb nuts have bid the home up another 50%+, i wouldn't buy a home in san dawg now b/c i'd be too busy moving out - just like i did in the bay area! -ng-

it is probably odd to most people, but i want housing to drop even though i'm a home owner... i really would like to upgrade in about 4-6 years and i want a fair to great deal. i don't want to trade up...

i won't overpay for real estate (or anything else!) and i don't care if the home is bordered by a couple sororities of your ex girlfriends - too much is too much! ;-)

>>The better the location, the better the appreciation.<<

very true... but... the more you lose on the way back down - the bay area is a prime example. that is why price is so important. a good price minimizes loss potential while maximizing upside potential.
