Brother bum,

For the Home shorts buffs, here are some interesting observations about Houston:

1. January housing starts were up 6.3%.

2. January housing sales down 6%. Hello anyone home???

3. Centex, one of Houstons larger builders, is now projecting a 10-15% decline in housing sales in Houston for 2002.

4. The gap between the cost of a new house vs. the price of a used home is at an all time high. In some cases it's as high as 50-100% higher. Supply vs. demand. Can you say bubble????

5. Bankruptcies up 18% in Houston and 19% nation wide to a new all time high.

6. The odds favor higher vs. lower interest rates in the next year.

And the beat goes on????

Jim
