True, Peter. It takes too much time, and I couldn't have articulated what you stated any better or more concisely ;)

However, let's say someone's been a lifetime fan of a Dr. Lucky, or whomever. Or if the subject was an art form (poetry, e.g.). Then the experience fills a different need dimension, and the view time is no longer a shortcoming. Instead it becomes an asset. In one case it's a need to know, in the other it's entertainment or a form of savoring.

Hi Peter,

I've also read that the 3G manuals that are provide with the handsets run to 350 pages or so. Perhaps apocryphal, perhaps and exaggeration. But the point is, no one is going to give a damn about 95% of the features that are being designed for 3G. Voice is the killer app for 3G, just like it was for analog cell phones. The technologists have simply taken a great concept to an absurd conclusion, IMHO.
