Tell me about it. It is totally ridiculous. I don't believe Chambers and friends are clean as the driven snow. I don't believe any CEO is pure. But Cisco is as clean as they come. Off-shore partnerships and hiding of debt is a bunch of hooey. It's just rumor mongering. What's happening right now is that the big boys see that things are turning around for both the economy and Cisco and want to get in at a good price. So this accounting shit is the best way to do it. They'll keep the price depressed through media lackeys for the next couple months as they get positioned. Now how's that for conspiracy theories? You see, it goes both ways. As such, I don't pay much attention to chicken little theories, but pay most attention to market positioning, company strength, management strength, financial results, and relative merits of competitors. Cisco is scoring high on everything (except the dilution through equity financing). So the company is as sound as a young horse. The stock just doesn't have the extreme potential it once did because of the dilution. But I'll bet my bottom dollar that once revenues kick into high gear again (and it will within 1 to 1.5 years), people will focus on that again instead of the o/s share number.
