The VXN actually printed above the 50DMA. stockcharts.com[m,a]daclyyay[db][pb50!b200][vc60][iUi14,3!Lh14,3]&pref=G I'd say this is temporary plunge protection, followed by some stops that were blown creating short covering. I'd think the most bullish thing that could happen would be for the market to mark some time here and hold this level to build an area of support and work off some overhead resistance.
