thanks for the feeback..

as stated in a previous post.. im looking at a Fidelity Select Fund trading model (hold time roughly months), threw out trading the sector based "holders" like XLF/XLU/XLP (http://www.amex.com) for more info, mainly due to lack of volume in the trading vehicles.

With this longer model, also i will be looking for moves like PG recently for individual stock postions.

what makes it tricky using monthly signals, is that you have to wait for the whole month to be over to have a valid monthly signal.

e.g.

first 2 weeks of the month, the indicators could be showing buy but at the end of the month, the indicator would have dipped below the buy threashold..

this is the same principle of a 5 min bar, where it's upon completion of the 5 minutes, the signal holds true.

am i going to wait for a whole month while the stock gyrates to wait for a signal? ;)

weekly scale is easier to deal with.

look at NWL on monthly chart.

of course, on daily and weekly, look all extended, but from a big picture view.. nwl - rubbermaid (cyclical)

as posted previously, on monthly it looks great looking back, but perhaps not timely enough

not a rec to buy or sell
no position.

ive read that one should be good at one type of trading or "strategy" or type of market. i dont believe that is a good idea.

My fear is the "market" or play no longer works or doesn't work for that time period.

e.g. breakout plays.. works well in bull mkt, but have to play more cautiously in bear markets..

simliarly same principle, i want to have a trading system for intraday, daily scale trading (swing), mid term weekly/monthly holds.

this is also due partly to the large size of the portfolio. can't daytrade a big portfolio (risk)..

thus, that's where my goals are and reasons behind it
