As I said, it's a moot (hokay, moot to me, mute to you) point since I don't care about, don't trust, don't even pay attention to reported numbers. Besides, numbers don't really matter, do they? Companies' reported earnings go up and their stock tanks. Why? Well, because it was already baked in the cake. Companies don't make any money and their stock goes up. Why? Well, the (negative) margins were better than expected by the analysts. Did anyone notice that Merrill Lynch upgraded CC today, right as it's becoming a lovely short? Ya think Mama Merrill has got some people into the stock they'd like to get out before the bottom falls out? Analysts? Earnings? You keep 'em, I don't want em. I am totally, and I mean totally, converted to TA. I just shorted MCL off the chart on Valentine's day, at 11.45. For a few days it looked like I had made a mistake and then, ka-boom, my GTC BTC order at 10.54 disappeared in a cloud of dust (filling at 10.50, btw), for a clean and cool 4 trading day (14, 15, 19, 20) return of 9%, for an annualizable return of over 500%. I would say I didn't know anything about MCL except for the chart and the letters, that wouldn't be sharing. I actually know very well the business they were in 30 years ago, the retailer business form business (thick pads with carbon copies for 12 destinations), a business which went the way of the dinosaur in about 1985. I know zero about how they are planning to reinvent themselves, and could care less. Until they appear again on a screen to me, they're just 3 random letters in the vast alphabet soup. Ain't that pathetic? I'm going to have to get me a pet monkey like Dabummy's and give it a funny name. Kb
