Visiting the Internet/e-mailing at various times during the day is part of my job.

Re: "daily work": I have assigned tasks to do every day. Some days I can get my work done in, say, six hours. Some days I have to work eight hours and more. The work load shifts from day to day and, yes, I do work ahead during lulls in the action.

By the way, once I worked 17 hours straight.

Re: "Should management expect more": Management is quite happy with my work performance. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been employed at the same place for 21-plus years.

Really, Selectric, you should pose these questions to JLA. He posts far, far more from work than I do.
