These indicators aren't important to me. It's just that different indicators have different reliability. VIX/VXN have been infallible in the past. This might change in the future, but I doubt it.

Why think in those terms ...

today you are still underwater, unless you bought the indexes around noon. Similarly shorts are still up if they took those positions on more than a few days ago.

How do you feel about the BKX busting through the level you mentioned? Fine as long as it doesn't close below that level? Not being facetious -- just wondering about your reasoning here ... will CSCO, INTC and some of the other big cap techs follow the stuff that rallied today or does that cause you some concern here?
