Fur: I merely used the example of someone assaulting a dowager, I did not comment more broadly on the issue. I selected it for its imagery.

Creationism: If you believe in freedom of religion, and in the right of groups to perpetuate themselves culturally in our society, then your take on the issue is dreadfully inadequate. I am not in favor of supplanting the teaching of evolution with creationism, but there is a serious, if difficult to address, problem involved.

The Ten Commandments: there can be no test if it is not permitted in the first place. There is no First Amendment issue if there is the inclusion of an array of wise sayings and admonitions from various traditions. What is wrong with working such a compromise, if only to allay parental anxiety.

FB initiatives: of course, there should be secular alternatives.

Heather: if it were only a matter of various configurations of caregivers, I doubt there would be a problem.

Skokie: Well, we apparently have a profound disagreement on that one. I do not know if I can add anything.

I will leave the environmental material alone. I doubt we can get much further......
