die_calculator.xls?!

Kind of amusing after the discussion about the evil monopoly. I don't think I will buy Office just to be able view that URL.

What's really fun is if you plug in 20x23 for the Itanic II aka McKinley, comes out to 7 good die/ wafer.

Ali
good point, the only problem is that intel seems to be able to satisfy the demand with current fabs and process. The shrink would be offset by larger cache so it is a wash but what about those new 300mm fabs that are coming?

I downloaded that spreadsheet but it will not open. I get an error

"die_calculator.xls can not be accessed. The file may be read only, or you might be trying to access a read only location. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding."
