What is ignorant and frivolous about showing that there is a degree of consensus, among the respected traditions of the world, about common decency?

Nothing. I'm big on common decency. I just don't see it manifested in the Commandments. It's certainly not best manifested in the Commandments. And I particularly don't see it manifested in a transparent charade to get a Christian document into the schools despite the diverse affiliations of the students. I'll believe it's not a charade when I see a collage of documents that places the Commandments in a less than prominent place among its competitors.

As I said, we should do a demonstration project to measure whether of not it's effective. If it is, by all means hang it. Affix it to every desk.

In fact, I could go along with hanging it now, if they add a commandment: thou shalt not be a hypocrite about hanging the Commandments.
