Japan IS SAVED!!! NHK to air long-lost Astro Boy episode found in U.S. Thursday, February 21, 2002 at 09:30 JST TOKYO — Japan Broadcasting Corp (NHK) will air a long-lost episode of the late Japanese cartoonist Osamu Tezuka's popular animated series "Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy)" in April, NHK officials said Wednesday. The episode was shown in Japan once when the series ran from 1963 to 1966 but it was then believed to have been lost until it was discovered about three years ago at a film warehouse in the United States, said officials from Tezuka's production company.
