Ban Ban MindBlow - The speaker - when asked what he would do differently if he had the choice - essentially said he would do what Intel did - define a BRAND NEW ARCHITECTURE without variable length instructions and with 100% FLAT REGISTER FILES !!!

He just validated Intel's IA64 approach !!

What a hoot !!!

Milo Moron - Re:"Well if you listen to the Stanford presentation it appears MSFT is on board but AMD cannot comment as they have to announce it."

You are a lying sack of sh!t. McGrath said the Linux guys love it and are working on it. That was the only "OS support" he identified.

AMD has received input in discussions with "major OS developers", no names mentioned. But he couldn't say anything more about OS support. Microsoft was never mentioned by name and there was no suggestion that MS would announce anything.

Listen at 59:00 plus.
