The only concern conservatives should have is the possibility of strings being attached to the federal money. Right now private schools are autonomous, that may change after they accept vouchers. But the issue is too important, I think its worth the gamble.

Nearly 80% of the American people support congressional term limits, yet we now have the media drumming up support for campaign finance reform which is nothing but an incumbent insurance bill.

When polls are taken in inner cities where public schools are failing the most dramatically, vouchers win support.

As a matter of public policy, vouchers could not be used to go to segregated schools. I say this for three reasons: one, federal grants cannot be used for segregated colleges; two, segregated private schools lose their tax- exemption; and three, strings can be attached to vouchers if we care to. It is a non- issue.......
