First Call does a lousy job of updating their "EPS Trends and Revisions". For HD notice that the 32-33 cent estimates in the "7 days ago" to "90 days ago" rows in the Jan 02 column are left over from the Oct 01 quarter, when HD reported 33 cents. The "7 days ago" to "90 days" ago rows in the Apr 02 column are 28 cents, which is the "current estimate."

I don't understand how companies can determine their eps and leak it to analysts the week before the public announcement without running afoul of the disclosure law. Maybe when nobody wants stocks anymore in a few years they will hold hearings and end that fraud.
