Dave They both make products that compete in the same markets. Granted Ciena is not as big as Cisco but we are moving to a collision course in this space by a number of companies. It's possible that Cisco could buy out Ciena but I just don't see it happening quite yet. Personally I don't think Cisco should buy them. Cisco has what it needs to compete. Optical has a long, long ways to go development wise. Fiber technology is pretty mature...The boxes however are still in the stone age.... Eric
