“He may not allow himself to be pushed into discussing beyond Q1”. He may not say anything beyond Q1 but he may say something positive too. Have to wait and see. I am sure all the analyst will be changing up or down.

I think Intels future projections have been based on what the economy will do and in some circles it is said the economy will turn around in this quarter.

As far as I am concerned the best source for trying to figure out the future is the guidance and updates that come from Intel. Intel always gives conservative guidance quarter to quarter, you know “plus or minus a couple of points.”
