I am saying that the attitude that we can trust the communist, is harmful. Intentionally so, no. I look at it this way, she is trying to touch a hot oven with her hand, and I am saying don't do that, you will get burned. A proper response then, would be to say that the stove isn't hot. That maybe commies are history. But the moral relativism argument, that a commie is not as dangerous as anyone else, is bologna. Gao, I'm going to try one more time to make my point about the frustration of trying to communicate to you. You may recall, I had you on ignore for the longest time. The reason is that, whenever I'd notice a spike in posting on a thread we both followed, it would turn out that it was you and bunches and bunches of arguments, none of which ever made any sense. So I just put messages to and from you on ignore and solved the problem. I think that the explanation for the flurries is what I've been experiencing--message after message of posters trying to explain what should be obvious to any reader, but apparently not to you, and dodging your continued misunderstanding or misrepresentation of what has been said as illustrated in the above citation. I never once said that we can trust communists. If you go back and read, I mean really read, what I said you will not find any trust in communists coming from me. I never said that communists were the moral equivalent of dentists or Episcopalians. Never suggested any such thing. Never. My point all along was that communists are not a serious current threat because they are in a very, very weak position and we are in a very, very strong position. Oddly, that is what you now call the "proper" response. So what have we been arguing about? We've been arguing about the monsters in your mind, not what I said. Or what Tim said. I'm glad that you now think that my position is a "proper" one. Now all that's needed is for you to recognize that it's been my position all along. It seems to me that we all, as posters, have an obligation to respect other posters enough to at least read what they say before responding. Karen
