Semi - re: "You mean 1 YEAR ago and 2 YEARS ago?? Would that be like.... PAST History?? AMD fans are always criticizing Intel fans for bringing up past victories. Mostly referring to them as meaningless, in the CURRENT situation...I guess that doesn't apply when the shoe is on the other foot eh?"

Pretty funny !!

The Droids have their own pretzel logic - as you must know.

Semi, Re: You mean 1 YEAR ago and 2 YEARS ago?? Would that be like.... PAST History??

Yes, of course. But somehow I got the impression that Wanna_bmw wanted to show that AMD always gets only the "geek awards" (read: THG) while Intel gets the high-prestige awards (read: MPR). That's certainly not true.

Concerning the MPR award: Isn't a bit strange that last year the Thunderbird edged out the Willamette while this year the Northwood wins against the Palomino? I am not sure what their metric for the award is but if it's processor architecture it doesn't make much sense because Palomino has more architectural enhancements than Northwood. If they want to point out that Northwood has a better future (better scaling, better performance) they are certainly right and I fully agree.
