Wrongo -- the instant ANY oil company exec simply even stated that his retail branches (or wholesale for that matter) would offer non-Saudi oil-based products...

there would be a riot of people switching to buy that instead. There would be lines around the block. This would cause an immediate reaction. Not the bland, "oh, well the circulation of fungible oil-based products is anonymous so etc."

The point here is the potential, and even more, the fact that ordinary consumers have an opinion, and can express that, rather than being hogtied into supporting terrorism.

Remember the ads showing street drugs support terrorism? People don't relate to that. They certainly relate to petrodollars being suspicious.

The reaction in oil-producing countries would be immediately to be sure to keep American consumers happy, or find some way to lie about it!
