Larry,

BLS and its RBOC equivalents are the ONLY telco targets left standing. Do you really think they come out of this unscathed? Their balance sheet mirrors WCOM's for example. Not that there is anything wrong with the Balance Sheet.
But do you really think the liars, crooks, and thieves won't now target the RBOC's? Everything else is dead. They shot too many to name. T got creamed. WCOM fell. Finally got to Q. BLS and such are next in line for these thieves and rumor mongers. Before its over $38 will look expensive for BLS.

And BLS cutting capex? When they have only 600,000 braodband customers? What are they going to do for the future? Keep lobbying Congress to keep local competition out? Is that a good business plan? Its worked so far. But cable companies want your local phone bill revenue.

How many customers have cut off their second phone line used for internet connections, and switched to cable broadband? Either cause dsl wasn't available or the phone companies mis-marketed it so badly? Thats growth, and revenue out of the RBOC's pockets. Could potentially be the seeds of revenue declines. Meanwhile Congress is lobbied rather than serving and keeping up with customer needs.
