Buying same amount of puts and calls at the same strike means the buyer thinks it will close off the strike by more than the combined premium in one direction or the other.

Or the seller thinks that it won't stray farther from the strike by the combined premium.

Or both.

i think you meant jan 2004 leaps. I was wondering why the 2002s were still available.
