I have to use their money mkt.,,Any thoughts--anyone

Peter, I wouldn't assume because it has a lower rate that it's safer. I have accounts at both CSFB and FIDO along with two daytrading houses. CSFB allows your money to be swept into a US Treasury money mkt. FIDO does too unless it's an IRA, which mine is. For them, I have to purchase their US Treasury fund. I wouldn't stay with a brokerage that didn't let me keep cash in a US Treasury money market fund.

The daytrading houses are different. One uses Spear Leeds to clear. The cash is insured to $100k. Above that they have insurance. The other is cleared by Instinet, which recently purchased the other daytrading firm. This post reminded me that I have to check on their insurance.
