Windsock - I have to say that the Intel faithful are going over the top on this one. It was not even a 2 digit number of weeks, let alone the years you claim. Microsoft and Compaq produced a 32 bit version of Windows - it was called Windows386 - which launched within weeks of Compaq's 386 product. BTW no one knew that was in the works as Compaq did not want IBM to know they had a 386 offering ahead of IBM.
